Robert Eugene Fuhrman, 90, of Campobello, formerly of Elkins, WV, passed away March 30, 2017, at his home. He was the son of the late Charles Edwards and Ruth Jackson Fuhrman and husband of Charlaine Oliver Fuhrman. He was first married to Betty Rosier Duckwall.
He was member of Landrum United Methodist Church and Woodford Methodist Church in Elkins, WV; served in the US Army in WWII; a car inspector for Chessie Railroad System; an avid turkey hunter; loved to watch sports; and studied the history of WWII.
In addition to his wife, Charlaine, he is survived by three daughters, Dana Cales, Christine Smith (Jay), Susannah Melnyczok; two step-sons, Bill Lawrence, Kim Lawrence; a sister, Nina Poland; five grandchildren, Dr. Diana Nims, Jamie Stuart, Joshua Smith, Jessica Moreton and Justyna Kroth; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a step son; Jay Lawrence, two brothers; Jack and Charles Fuhrman; six sisters; Mildred Fuhrman, Mary Dahmer, Anna Sue Beck, Eloise Riffle, Helen Fuhrman, Doris Isner and a granddaughter, Ashley Melnyczok.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Landrum United Methodist Church at 1:00pm Saturday, April 8, 2017 conducted by Rev. Kevin Dalton. Following the service, a reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Landrum United Methodist Church, 225 N. Howard Street, Landrum, SC 29356.
