Mrs. Shields was my seventh grade teacher at Tryon Elementary School. I remember her very well as a fine teacher and a wonderful person.

I am so sorry for your loss. To lose someone we love in death is the most devastating event that can take place in our lives. The pain and anguish we feel never truly goes away. Our loving God Jehovah is aware of what we are feeling and is here to offer us comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4). God holds out wonderful promises concerning our departed loved ones at Revelation 21:3, 4; And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. I hope these scriptures will give you strength to endure the difficult days ahead. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Mrs. Shields was a great teacher. I had her in 6th grade at Tryon School. I saw her off and on and a couple of years ago I stopped by to see her. She was thrilled that I remembered her. We talked about all the kids that were in my age group at Tryon - a really nice visit. Happy that she was a part of my education. She was a strict teacher but a caring one.
