I met Leroy at McDonald's in Columbus. He would come in with Jack Jolley after they had attended the Gideons meeting. He asked me to tune the pianos at Sandy Springs Church; he also had me tune his daughter's piano.
We had missed him at McDonald's for a while, and then he appeared again. He would load up a tray and proceed to eat it all.
Being a farm boy myself, I liked Leroy and enjoyed visiting with him. We are also brothers in Christ; that makes for a strong fellowship.
I learned of his untimely passing when I returned from a trip to Virginia. We are all saddened by this and miss him already.

I met Mr. Leroy through my position with the Farm Service Agency in Rutherford County. I enjoyed talking with him every time he came into the office to conduct business with our agency or with our sister agencies. He always had a smile on his face and you could tell he enjoyed what he was doing. Pray the family is left with the knowledge that he loved this life and was looking forward to his continued life with Christ.

Mr. Leroy McCraw, was a wonderful example of what a Christian was and should be. A close friend to some and a friend to everyone he met. Leroy never met a stranger. He was one of the best men I, we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. What a legacy he left here on earth. Everyone who knew him or knew of him was blessed by him. My heartfelt sorrow goes out to you both Sonya and Ken. I know ya'll will miss him greatly as will everyone who knew him. Earth lost a friend and a wonderful Christian man and heaven gained an angel. What a privilege to have known such an awesome man.
Love and prayers, Craig, Denise, and family

I'm so sorry to lose such a good friend and role model. Leroy was the nicest and most hard working man I know. It was an honor to have been his neighbor and a joy to talk to him and get to know him. I will never forget the sound of him calling in the cows to eat" sweet cows" and they would come running. Leroy we will miss you friend.

I haven't seen Leroy in over 25 years but I thought of him often. Leroy was a great man who left a lasting impression on me. He was a man of faith, a mentor to us teenagers and just a good all around person.
We will miss you Leroy but will see you again in heaven.

Sonya, Ken, Brandon
Our hearts are aching along with yours. A void has been created by Mr. Leroy's departing.... but we rest assured that he is up in heaven chattering away with everyone who has long gone before him. He is catching up with them and filling them in on all that has been going on here. Mrs. Edna finally has her "LaRoy" back by her side. Both these precious loved ones will be and are missed greatly. May God give you strength, comfort, wisdom and peace through this trial and through the days ahead of you.

Leroy was the first person to talk to me when I started coming to Sandy Springs. He has been a mentor, grandfather, friend, blessing to my family and a brother in Christ. I will miss him greatly. It was a honor and a gift from God to share what time I had with him.
