Walter B. Blackwell

Walter Bennett Blackwell, 86, of Landrum, South Carolina, passed away on May 13, 2026. Born on April 24, 1940, he was the son of the late Dennis and Elzie Blackwell.

Walter retired from Bommer Industries after many years of dedicated work. He enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his family, and sharing his stories and humor with those around him. He will be remembered for his love for his family, his kindness, and the laughter he brought to others.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Blackwell; his five children, Benjamin (Nette), William, Rocky (Xan), Cecil (Lisa), and Michelle; three special grandchildren, Brittany, Jordan, and Brandon; 11 grandchildren, Mark, Josh, Danielle, Dixie, Herby, Courtney, Amber, Dillon, Ashley, Cole, and Emily; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Petty’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Graveside burial will follow at Cooley Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
