Thelma Eskew Obituary

Thelma Kay Turner Eskew, of Landrum, went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 16, 1960, to the late Irene Sudduth and Tony L. Turner, Thelma was a lifelong resident of Northern Greenville County.

Though she lived a life marked by challenge, Thelma met each day with quiet strength and a boundless love for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of perseverance and grace will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Thelma will always be remembered as a loving and supportive mother by her four children: Jennifer Eskew Henderson and husband, Matthew; Joshua Eskew and wife, Sidney; Jessica Chrisanne Ziegler and husband, Kyle; and Jamie Lynn Ellason. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to nine grandchildren—Haleigh, Sophie, and Brayden Henderson; Nellie and Nora Eskew; Turner and Gwendolyn Ziegler; and Rhylynn and Josiah Ellason—each of whom she cherished beyond measure.

She will be dearly missed by her brother, Reginald Turner, and wife, Fredda; her niece, Amanda Turner Durham and husband Travis, and their children, Kai and Kit; her aunts and uncles: Frances Herman and husband, Bill; Martha Peace and husband, Wilson; Ann Sammons and husband, Carroll; Tex Turner and wife, Dale; and many beloved cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Vince Gainey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church Youth Fund, 4005 Hwy 414, Landrum, SC 29356.
