Susan Kay Caulk, 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbus, NC on March 25, 2025. A native of Greenville, SC, she was the wife of Thomas W. Caulk, and the daughter of the late Howard and Betty Ann Sanders Baker.
Prior to retiring to Polk County, she had been an award-winning Realtor in Williamsburg, VA, and her passion for houses, decorating, and gardening remained with her throughout her lifetime….She was one of HGTV’s biggest fans until the day she died. After moving to North Carolina, Susan began volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity Resale Store in Landrum, SC and soon became a member of the management team. She often said that it was the most fun and interesting time she ever had; she loved being there and meeting new people.
Survivors include her husband Tom, one daughter, Christy A. (Parry) Ward, one sister, Barbara L. Collett, one brother, Kenneth W. Baker, two granddaughters, Kailey and Cameron Ward, and numerous cousin, aunts and uncles.
The family would like to thank the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their wonderful care and compassion. A very special thank you to Jennifer Haynes, Susan’s personal Nurse….we couldn’t have made it without you.
Services will be private.
