Shirley Bruce

Shirley Saltz Johnson Bruce, 72, of Woodruff passed away on March 20, 2025.  She was the daughter of the late Paul Foster and Syble Scruggs Saltz.

She was a member of Spartanburg First Baptist Church and retired from Spartanburg Regional Hospital.

Shirley was a huge animal rights activist, always taking care of animals, both domestic and wildlife. Her kindness and love for her family, friends, and beloved pets Joey, Jade, & Sadie are unmatched. 
She is survived by Ruth Blanton (Ted), Kimberly Miller (Clint), Michael Hamilton (Hannah), Ayden Miller, Addison Miller, Nevaeh Franklin, Bennett Hamilton, and her best friend Rebecca Gottschalk (Howard).
She is predeceased by her beloved partner, Dennis Borders and her brother David Foster. Also, her cousin whom she considered her nephew, Andrew Hamilton. 
Shirley will be remembered fondly and missed by all.        

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Petty Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Clingman Memorial Gardens in Blacksburg, SC.
