Sara Sally (Swanson) Costine

Sara "Sally" Swanson Costine, 93, of Tryon, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022. She is the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Martha Schellenger Swanson and wife of the late Raymond Leonard Costine.

Sally is a member of Tryon Presbyterian Church.  She was a Director for United Way and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity

Sally is survived by two sons: Andrew Costine and his wife, Lynn, of Tryon, NC; Peter Costine of Raleigh, NC;  three daughters:  Sandra Watson and her husband, Mike Watson, of Augusta, GA; Robin Berkman and her husband, Benjamin Berkman, of Charlotte, NC; Wendy Winstead and her husband Ronnie, of Lawrenceville , GA.  Grandchildren include Courtney Watson Maggied (husband, Adam), Rev. Michael Watson (wife, Melody), Matthew Watson (wife, Jennifer), Kelsey Berkman, Erik Berkman, Zachary Winstead, Sarah Costine (husband, Ryan), Anna Costine, Emily Costine and Will Costine.

A memorial service will be held at Tryon Presbyterian Church on September 23, 2022 at 1:00PM conducted by Rev. Dr. Allan Purtill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 247, Columbus, NC 28722 or to Tryon Presbyterian Church, 430 Harmon Field Road, Tryon, NC 28782.
