Mr. Samuel Jerome High 78, passed away Monday, October 28th, 2024, at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Mr. High was born in Spartanburg, SC on November 14, 1945, the son of the late Charlie Bryant and Sue Ellen (Riddle) High. He is survived by his son: Grant (Kim) High of the home, two grandchildren: Jordan High and Jacob High, and a sister: Louise Cummings of Roebuck.
He retired from Spartanburg Chevrolet after proudly serving in the U.S. Navy and as a Deputy with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Spartanburg.
Visitation will be held at Petty Funeral Home, Landrum, SC, at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 4, 2024. A memorial service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 PM with Sheriff Chuck Wright as speaker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations be made in Sam's honor to the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office Benevolence Fund, PO Box 771, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
The family is at the home of son: Grant High, 314 Caxton Farms Ct., Inman, SC.
