Ruby Jean Cothran, 94, of Campobello went to be with Jesus on February 16, 2023 at White Oak Manor Tryon. A native of Green Creek, NC, she was the daughter of the late WH and Nellie Weaver Culbreth an widow of Cecil Cothran.
She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, Inman. she loved her Sunday School class and was an active member of Joy Club and WOW until her health declined.
She is survived by her daughter Debbie Becknell and husband Don; a son Doug Cothran and his wife Pat; four grandchildren Matthew Cothran and his wife Jill, Marie Gilmore and husband Travis, Emily Owen and husband Jacob, Rebecca Becknell and boyfriend Jamie Horton; seven great grandchildren Bryson and Mattie Cothran, Chloe Gilmore, Bradley Skipper and Jeremiah and Noah Owen.
She was predeceased by sisters Mae Calvert and Myrtle Alverson and a brother Bill Culbreth.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm Sunday, February 19, 2023 at New Prospect Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the church conducted by Pastor Matthew Bishop and Pastor Bill Harris. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
