Rosa "Marcelle" (Seay) Jones

Rosa "Marcelle" Seay Jones, 89, of Campobello, passed away on August 2, 2023.  She was the daughter of the late Cager and Ethel Mae Strickland Seay and the wife of the late John Leon Jones.

She was a member of Motlow Creek Baptist Church where she was a choir member and Sunday School teacher.  She also was a volunteer for Mobile Meals and was a caretaker for many family members and friends.  She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan who could tell you names of players, positions and how they were playing.  She was a hard worker and a mentor to many people.  Marcelle loved gospel music and family dinners but most of all she loved serving the Lord. 

She is survived by a son, Randy L. Jones; granddaughters, Nicholle, Jennifer and Kayla; six great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Margaret Cooper and Polly Jones; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sons, Sam H. Jones and Farrell Jones; her brothers, Edward, Ernest and Ray Seay; her sisters, Geneal Seay Hunsinger and Francis Seay Hunsinger. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00PM Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Monday, August 7, 2023 at Motlow Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Terry Rainey, Rev. Joe Seay and Rev. Lynn Stewart.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
