Ronnie Blackwell

Ronnie Lee Blackwell, 65, of Landrum, SC, entered Heaven's gates on October 21, 2023. 

Born in Rutherfordton, NC, he was the son of the late Ruby and Junior Darby and Howard and Wanda Blackwell. Ronnie loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, puzzles, and professional wrestling. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and poppy, known for his quirky sense of humor, his humungus heart, and never ending love for his family. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Marshall, and two sisters, Ruth and Sheila. 

Surviving are his wife, Helen Blackwell; eight children, Amanda Blackwell, Jessica (Brandon) Mills, Dustin Taylor, Brandon Noble, Katie (Justin) Fredericks, Jolene (Brandon) Williams, Noelle (Sean) McKaig, and Gabrielle (Tyler) Searcy; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; siblings, Martha Ann Fitch, Patsy (Billy) Walker, Brenda Farmer, Teresa (Mitchell) Durham,and Margie (Larry) Moore. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Petty Funeral Home with Rev. Sean McKaig officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00am - 11:00am prior to the service.
