Romulo Contreras

Romulo Contreras, 57, of Columbus, NC, passed away on April 2, 2024. He is the husband of Maricela Bazan Contreras and the son of the late Santos and Ramona Tovar Contreras.

He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing.  He loved to cook for family and friends on the grill and enjoyed woodworking.  Romulo was always happy with a smile on his face and loved to tell jokes.  He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Jesus Contreras, Romulo Contreras, Jr. and David Lee Contreras; daughters, Jenny Lee Contreras and Alicia Ruiz and a step son, Fermin Oveido; eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00AM Friday, April 5, 2024 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Sean McKaig.
