Robert Niles Robinson, 86, of Columbus, NC, passed away on September 9, 2025. He was the husband of Claudette Eva Marl Robinson and the son of the late Benjamin Marvin Robinson and the late Nellie Niles Robinson.
Robert will be remembered for his quiet strength, honesty, and deep love for the simple joys in life.
As a sole proprietor, he loved being the boss, first he was Robinsons Wholesale Florist and in North Carolina, Country Excavation. He had a natural gift for tinkering, whether it was rebuilding an old engine, repairing something around the house, or finding creative solutions to everyday problems carried in the way he lived his life and treated others.
A man who found peace in the outdoors and purpose in working with his hands. He was mostly at home under an open sky with a tool in hand building another beautiful fence or new driveway.
More than anything, he loved his family and the time they spent together outside. Runing his Skid Steer "Felix" or simply driving the "Frog" golf cart around the farm. Those who knew him will remember his quiet humor, his thoughtful advice, and the steady presence he offered in a fast-moving world. His legacy lives on in the lessons he passed down, the things he built, and the many lives he touched with a caring heart.
In addition to his wife, Claudette, he is survived by his son, Dan Robinson; his brother, Richard Robinson; his sisters, Nancy Trask and Diana Bowers; stepdaughters, Vikki L. VanVliet and Karen Hutchinson; grandchildren, Easton and Alden Reynolds.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert Robinson and a brother, David Robinson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Jackson Grove United Methodist Church, 2842 North Pacolet Road, Landrum, SC 29356, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
