Robert Hoyt Hooper, Sr.

Robert Hoyt Hooper, Sr., 84, of Landrum, SC, passed away on January 2, 2026. He was the son of the late Zeb Lee and Beulah Alice Morgan Hooper and husband of the late Cle-Ellen "Cleo" Mehaffey Hooper.

Robert retired as a supervisor from Hoechst Celanese in Spartanburg, SC, for the Maintenance and Fab Department. He served in the NC National Guard and was activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Providing a strong Christian home, his favorite hobbies included fishing and tying his own flies. In his early years, he owned Hoyt's Lure Shop. He also enjoyed woodworking, which led him to earning his SC Residential Home Builders License. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his two sons, Robert "Robbie" Hooper, Jr., and Jeffrey Hooper (Teresa) and grandchildren, Martha and Travis Hooper.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Marie Ross and Claudia Lee; and brothers, Wilfred Hooper and Johnny Mack Hooper.
