Robert Lee Childers Jr peacefully passed at his home in Campobello, South Carolina on Wednesday August 14, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on December 26, 1955, in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Robert Lee Childers Sr and Margaret Padgett Childers with a larger-than-life personality.
He had a devout devotion to the Lord and his favorite place was Israel. He always said, “this feels like home.” Robert had the charisma and character that made him influential to everyone he knew. Robert’s drive and giftedness propelled him to owning an HVAC company since 1998. As he poured his heart and soul into this company, what always motivated him and was the greatest treasurer were the people. His deep love for people made him an incredible boss, co-worker and friend to many. Robert never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone. His favorite pastime was Family Game Night, Clemson Football and The Atlanta Braves.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Dana Childers. His four children Lindsay (Edgar) Sanders, Taylor (Allie) Childers, Dakota (Kat) Childers and Marlee Childers. He was the best Granddude to his five (almost 6) grandchildren, Harland Sanders and Banner, Harper Kate, Emma and Redding Childers. His brother Randy (Sally) Childers, nephews Marshall (Kayla) Childers, Nicolas (Darielle) Childers and a niece Meagen (Mandy) Childers. Mother-in-law Jeannette Taylor and two bothers-in-law Troy (Meg) Marshall, Norman (Sylvia) Marshall.
Special thanks to his care givers. Kenneth “Twin” and Stephanie Thompson, Brandi “Bran-di” Thompson and his sweet hospice nurse Robin “Baby”.
In Robert’s own words “Praise Yah”!!!!!!
