Rev. John Denton Williams, Jr.

Reverend John D. Williams, Jr., 83, of Landrum, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. He was the son of the late John D. Williams, Sr. and Ruth C. Williams, and the husband of Rebecca Lockhart Williams.

He was pastor of Tryon Second Baptist Church in Tryon, NC.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Rebecca, he is survived by a daughter, Kimberly A. Fowler; a son, John D. Williams III; and a granddaughter, Cheyeanna N. Fowler.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Jackson Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Dennis Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tryon Second Baptist Church, 76 McDonald Street, Tryon, NC 28782
