Rev. Charles R. Arledge

Rev. Charles R. Arledge, 90, of Tryon, NC passed away on May 24, 2026.  He was the son of the late Gray and Edith Cantrell Arledge and husband of Marie Gilbert Arledge.

He pastored Byars Baptist Church for over 40 years and loved his church family.

He is survived by his wife Marie Arledge; a son Terry Arledge, a brother Bobby Arledge (Beverly); and  a granddaughter Tracy Owensby (John).

He was predeceased by a grandson Jeffrey Arledge; four brothers Herschel, William,  Rex and Herbert; and a sister Shirley.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Byars Baptist Church.   A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm conducted by Rev. Eli Edwards and Rev. Keith Russell.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
