Renee McSwain

Renee Blackwell McSwain, 85, of Columbus, NC, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at her home.

Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Major and Rachel Jones Blackwell. Renee was the widow of Dufay McSwain, who passed away in 2000. Renee enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed sports, especially watching her grandchildren play them. Renee was a member of Green Creek First Baptist Church. 

Surviving are a son, Kerry McSwain (Wanda); a daughter, Marla Searcy; four grandchildren, Benjamin Searcy, Leah Genobles, Brandon Searcy, and Andrew McSwain. Also surviving are sixteen great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy McCarver officiating.
