Phillip Lee Waters, 68, of Green Creek, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills. A native of Polk County, NC, he was the husband of Kathy Gosnell Waters of nearly 50 years and son of the late Mildred Waters. He leaves behind two children Tami Ramsey of Mill Spring and Bruce Waters of Green Creek; nine grandchildren AJ Coffey, James Coffey (Brooke), Courtney Waters (Nate), Kylee Waters (Jay), Layla Ramsey, RJ Ramsey and Braelyn Ramsey, Riley Williams and Paislee Skipper and one great grandchild on the way, Hadlee Self; daughter in law Kenya Skipper; five brothers Ricky, Kenneth, Timothy, Steve, Ronald and two sisters Melinda and Jackie. Also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all miss him dearly. He was predeceased by a brother Denneth.
If you ever met him he would give you a nickname. He worked as a logger with Noble Capps in Logging for 30 years then went to Gosnell Logging until he retired. His grandkids were his pride and joy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 1:00pm at Beulah Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tony Pierce and Rev. Eric Reedy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
