Paul Griffin

Paul Royce Griffin of Tryon NC passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025.  He was surrounded by
close friends and family members. He has moved on to be with the Lord and his beloved wife
Mary Eveland Griffin who recently passed on. Paul was born in Cherokee NC October 20,
1936. The son of Nona Allison and Paul Griffin. Paul is survived by his son Matt Carlos Griffin,
Brother In Law Edward Eveland, Ed’s Partner Karen Veazey, niece Lauren Eveland and nephew
Scott Eveland. Also former sister in law Marty Macartney and her partner Dan Osborne.

Mr. Griffin was a US Air Force Veteran and later went to do work as a private contractor in
Vietnam. Upon returning to the states, he worked for the North Carolina Department of
Transportation for 25 years as Area Equipment Superintendent, Division of Highways. He
enjoyed spending time with his wife and family and working expanding his home. He was an
outdoorsman and was an expert fly fisherman, making and tying his own flys. He received
much pleasure in helping others no matter what their needs. He was a kind loyal friend to many
and they have been wonderful in visiting and showing their love for him during his final days.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice in memory of Paul Griffin.
