Neil Alton Raymond

Neil Alton Raymond, 88, passed away on March 8, 2023, with his wife and sister-in-law at his side. Born May 7, 1934, he was the son of Grace M. (Miller) and Harrison L. Raymond. 

He grew up in Hawley, MA and was a 1952 graduate of Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, MA. 

He and his father ran Harrison L. Raymond and Son, a farm machinery sales and service business in Buckland, MA for many years. When the business closed in 1984, he held several other jobs, but his favorite was working at the elementary school in Colrain, MA. The students brought him much joy.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara; his sons, Neil (Cindy), Gerald, and Ronald; his daughters, Lisa Conway (Richard) and Melissa Dufresne (Todd), and his sister, Ann Garrow (Robert). Nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, as well as, many nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his mother Grace, his father Harrison, his sister Shirley, and his daughters, Jane and Darlene. 

There will be no services as this is what he wished. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
