Nancy Jane (Barlow) McGarra

Nancy J. McGarra, 91, of Tryon passed away loving the Lord on February 12, 2023.  She was the widow of Albert F. McGarra of Newtown, CT.

She was an active member of the Landrum United Methodist Church, a master gardener and a member of both Green Blades and Daffy Jills Garden Clubs.

Family first, she loved her friends, neighbors and cottage home and garden.  She enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbie L. McGarra of Washington, CT; a son, Thomas L. McGarra of Horse Shoe, NC; four grandchildren, Megan, wife of Brandon Mitchell, Callie, wife of Anthony Somers, Connor and Dylan Fairbairn; six great grandchildren, Ethan, Elena, Evelyn, Gabriella and twins, Madelyn and Olivia.

At Nancy's request, there will be no services.  The family would invite anyone that knew her to share their memories and condolences online.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Landrum United Methodist Church Free Meal Program, 227 N. Howard Ave, Landrum, SC 29356.
