Nancy Shipley Hurley, age 92, entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and savior on May 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in California, she lived a life rooted in faith, love, humility, and devotion to her family. As a loving wife and loving mother of ten children, grandmother and great-grandmother, she considered motherhood her greatest calling and blessing from God.
Through quiet strength, endless sacrifice, and unwavering prayer, she created a home filled with unconditional love. She was known for her humor and funny teasing and also admired for her grace and resolute kindness even in trials. Her family will always remember her beautiful, clear and sweet voice that filled her home with hymns as she worked. Her gentle spirit and steadfast faith touched generations of family and friends.
Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion thought her family and all those who were blessed to know her. Though her family grieves at her passing, they rejoice in the promises that she is now at peace and eternally with the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward Hurley, children Frank Lawerence Hurley, Seana Hurley Scruggs, grandchild Ray Keneth ‘Trey’ Scruggs III, son-in-law Patrick Chamberlain, and son-in-law William Gonzalez. Left to cherish her memory are her eight children, Charles Edward Hurley III, Ross Alen Albaugh, Berniece Virginia Hurley, Kathryn Hurley Gonzalez, Mary Hurley Lee, Cecelia Hurley Eure, Dolores Hurley Chamberlain, Albert Andrew Hurley, plus 28 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren, extended family members and cherished friends, all of whom will continue to carry forward her legacy of faith, strength, and love.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
She will forever remain in our hearts until we meet again in God’s heavenly kingdom.
