Obituary
Mary Ophelia "Sister" Shields Greer, 86, of Campobello, passed away on May 20, 2023. She was the daughter of the late James Luther Shields, Sr. and Mattie Metcalf Shields and the wife of the late Calvin Keith Greer.
Ophelia was a member of First Baptist Church Gowensville and a member of the Berean Sunday School Class. She retired from Mohawk Industries and enjoyed volunteering with Mobile Meals. She loved her music and dancing and had a passion for traveling, but most of all she loved her family and her church.
She is survived by her sons, James "Robby" Pace (Nancy) and Brian "Scotty" Pace; a step son, Mike Greer (Roxanne); step granddaughters, Nancy Jane Riley and Alisha Greer.
She was predeceased by her brothers, J.L. Jr., Everette R., Robert Lee "Bobby", William Earl, Leroy and David Nelson Shields.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at First Baptist Church Gowensville conducted by Rev. Josh Phillips. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Gowensville, 5650 SC-14, Landrum, SC 29356.
