Margaret Smith

Margaret Sudduth Smith, 80, of Travelers Rest, SC, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at her home. 

Born in Greenville County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wilton Coley and Ruby Robertson Sudduth. Margaret was the widow of Maxie Lavon Smith, Sr. She was a member of Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church. Margaret enjoyed cross stitching and word searches. She especially loved her "grand dogs". 

Surviving are a son, Maxie Lavon Smith, Jr.; a daughter, Mary Louise Smith; a sister, Elaine Sudduth. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was predeceased by a brother, Allen Sudduth and a sister, Carolyn S. Turner. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Greer, SC, with Rev. Drew Hines, Rev. Walter Johnson and Rev. Vince Gainey officiating. 

The family will receive friends at Petty Funeral Home from 12:00pm - 1:00pm prior to the service.
