Justin Scott Grooms

Justin Scott Grooms, 40, of Landrum passed away on May 18, 2024.  He was born on July 21st 1983 to parents Timothy Lee Grooms, Sr. and Holly Beth Peace Rhodes in Haywood County, NC

Justin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents Timothy Lee Grooms, Sr. of Pelzer, SC, mother Holly Beth Peace Rhodes and step father Brian Keith Rhodes of Landrum, SC; a son Steven Scott Cowert; two brothers Timothy Lee Grooms, Jr. (Jami Grooms) of Greer, SC, Kevin Trey Grooms of Pelzer, SC; his sister Krista Danielle Grooms of Woodruff, SC; a special aunt Brenda Grooms Myszkowski of Greer; three nieces, Contessa Dunlap, Abbygail Leo, and Elicia Grooms; and a nephew Theron Grooms; along with many other cousins and extended relatives.

He was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents; Mr. Robert Grooms & Mrs. Betty Ferguson Grooms; maternal grandparents Mr. Clinton "Bill" Peace and Mrs. Pauline Peace and an Aunt Linda Grooms Surett.

Justin enjoyed being outdoors, collecting knives and firearms, spending time with his family and taking care of his dog, Bella.  He was an avid animal lover and never met an animal that he didn't want to take home with him.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Petty Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Hopewell Independent Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Michael Pittman.  Burial will be in the church cemetery followed by a meal of fellowship in the church fellowship hall.
