John Thompson (JT) Taylor, 93, of Cutler Bay, FL, went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2024. He was born in Mooresboro, North Carolina to James Washington Taylor and Cordelia Webb Taylor.
He spent 20 years serving his country in the Air Force and retired to work as a truck driver and then a manager for Mascot Homes. JT Taylor was a long-standing member of Rock Hill Church, Inman, SC and then Lake Murray Baptist Church in Lexington, SC.
He was predeceased by wife, Minnie Lou Duncan Taylor, his sisters Valree Tallent, Zola Wood, Gladys Lail and his brother James Taylor.
His surviving youngest brother Rev. Eddie Taylor will be conducting the funeral service. He is survived by his daughter Christine and son Joel, as well as two grandchildren Kelsey Jade Humphrey and Cody Taylor. He loved his three great grandchildren Aiden James Humphrey, Rylie Quinn Humphrey and Kylah Avery Humphrey. He enjoyed word searches and long walks with Aiden, dancing and sharing his chocolate chip cookies with Rylie and he loved snuggles and snack time with Kylah.
Visitation will be held at Petty Funeral Home, Landrum, SC at 10:00am on Saturday, Nov. 30th, 2024. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 am with Rev. Eddie Taylor and Rev. Lloyd Edmond speaking. A short graveside service will be held at the old Rock Hill Church cemetery, 511 Edwards Road, Inman, SC 29349. JT will be buried beside his beloved wife Minnie Lou Duncan Taylor.
