John Burrell

John Edmond Burrell, 86, of Landrum, SC, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Tryon, NC, he was the son of the late Sam and Alice Calvert Burrell. John was the widower of Myrtle Burrell who passed away in 2025. John enjoyed fishing and going to flea markets. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Landrum, SC. John was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Surviving are two sons, Joel Burrell (Lou) and Johnny Burrell (Carole); a brother, Jessie Burrell. Also surviving are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, John was predeceased by a sister, Rethia Fowler.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Smith officiating.

Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.
