John Ira Bruce

John Ira Bruce, 93, of Spartanburg, formerly of Landrum, passed away January 21, 2023 at the Upstate Community Hospice House.  He was the husband of Betty Lou Whitt Bruce and the son of the late Rev. Webb and Bertha Peace Bruce.

He was a member of Graham Chapel and retired as a loom fixer from Landrum Mills.

In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by his daughters, Linda Brady, Pat Tate and Joan McCraw; step daughters, Debbie Willis and Denise Gilbert; step sons, Keith and Randall Sprouse; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and twelve step great grandchildren; 

He was predeceased by a grandson, Daniel Thompson; brothers, Bud, Lecil, Bill and Garrell Bruce and a sister, Leona Bruce.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at Petty Funeral Home in Landrum and again 1:00PM - 2:00PM at Graham Chapel in Mayo, where a service will follow at 2:00PM conducted by Rev. James Henderson and Rev. Preston Edmunds.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
