Joe Dean Smith

Joe Dean Smith, 79, lifelong resident of Gowensville passed away peacefully at his home on April 22, 2023.  He was the son of the late Herbert Otto Smith and Cleo Phillips Smith.

He is survived by his brother Philip Smith (Kay), his daughters, Patricia Rountree (Ron), Nancy Griffin (Jeff) and one son Joseph Smith (Bailey); six grandchildren, Rachel Cooper (Alex), Eliza Rountree (Max), Abby Inge (Zack), Josh Johnson (Paige), Olivia Griffin, Walker Smith and one great grandchild, Jessie Inge.

He was predeceased by a brother, Melvin Smith.

The family will receive friends Wednesday April 26, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Gowensville.  There will be a private family burial.

Joe Dean loved his family and his farms.  He was proud to be a farmer and caretaker of the land he loved.
