James "Jeep" Dozier Tate, 80, of Inman, SC passed away Friday, October 13, 2023. Born in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Herbert and Bertis Mitchem Tate. He was a carpenter and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Left to cherish his memory are one son, Jamie Tate; one sister, Becky Tate Abernathy (Tommy); and one brother, William (Tex) Tate. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, R.A. Tate, Leonard Tate, Bobby Tate, and Charles (Bai) Tate.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 10:00am - 11:00am at Petty Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the Petty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Gulledge officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
