James David Blackwell (JD), 75, of Campobello, SC, entered into eternal rest on January 18, 2026.
He was born on January 20, 1950. He was the son of the late Dennis Floyd Blackwell and Elzie Mae Fisher Blackwell. JD was a very sweet man who loved old cars, especially mustangs, fishing, and being with family. He also enjoyed go-kart racing and dirt track racing, supporting Justin Henderson and Brian Belue during their years of racing. JD retired from Bommer Springs Ind. after 43 years. He was loved by many people and never met a stranger. JD will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his siblings, Mary Blackwell, Mildred Blackwell, Francis Ponder, and Walter Blackwell (Brenda). JD is also survived by special nieces, Judy Belue and Sandy Henderson; a special great nephew, Brian Belue. Also surviving are other nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, JD was predeceased by brothers, Joe Blackwell, Johnny Blackwell, and Raymond Blackwell; a nephew, Jeffrey Blackwell; a niece, Bonnie Blackwell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., Friday, January 23, 2026 at Petty Funeral Home.
