Hugh Fowler

Herbert Hugh Fowler, 86, of Campobello passed away on November 18, 2023.  He was the son of the late Collett and Florence Biggerstaff Fowler and husband of Ethelyne Medley Fowler.

Hugh was a member of First Baptist Church of Gowensville and served in the US Air Force.  He was a State Farm Agent for over 55 years.   He was a member of the Rotary Club of Inman, the American Legion, the "HOBOS" golfers, the Inman Masonic Lodge #201, the Scottish Rite and the Hejaz Shriners.    He loved to golf, travel, spend time with his family, and watch the sunset on Hogback Mountain from his deck. Hugh never met a stranger and loved to tell a good joke.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Ethelyne Medley Fowler; daughter Wanda Fowler Bradey (Charles), son Scott Fowler (Lisa); daughter Susan Fowler Chester (Tom); grandchildren Christopher Bradey (Roxanne), Eric Bradey (Lacey), Lindsey Fowler Cary (Travis), Lauren Fowler Batson (Graham), Clay Chester (Kirsten) and Morgan Chester Keadle (Hays) and Nathan Fowler (Laney); eight great grandchildren JT Bradey, Oliver Bradey, Fallon Bradey, Theo Batson, Jennings Keadle, Asher Bradey, Thomas Chester and Calvin Bradey; and a sister Edith Fowler Hannon.

He was predeceased by brothers and sisters Alda Mae Fowler Burris, Angrus Fowler, Ray Fowler, Alvin Fowler, Louise Fowler, Gilmer Fowler, Dorothy Fowler Bullard, Calbert Fowler and James Fowler.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Brad Atkins and Rev. Josh Phillips.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital of Greenville, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC  29605.
