Obituary
Homer Leroy Newton, 80, of Tryon, NC, died, Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville, NC.
Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Grady and Agnes Cantrell Newton. Homer enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars.
He was predeceased by two sons, Billy Butler, Jr. and Ronnie Butler; a brother, Alfred Newton, and a granddaughter, Haylee Seres.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Lillian Chapman Newton; a son, Scott Newton (Sarah); three daughters, Debbie Seres (Alan), Janice McCraw (Tom), and Linda Garland (Johnny); two brothers, Stanley Newton (Elaine) and Chris Newton (Margaret); three sisters, Reba Hutchins, Barbara Dotson (Roger), and Jeanette Byrd; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Charles Arledge officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm - 1:30pm at Petty Funeral Home prior to the service.
