Heather Austin Johnson, 46, of Landrum passed away November 16, 2022 at her home. A native of Greenville County she was the daughter of William "Strawberry" Austin and the late Debra "Dip" Campbell Austin, Wife of Mike Johnson. Survivors include, in addition to her father and husband, two daughters Baylee Henley and Reese Henley and one sister, Shannon Carroll.
Heather was a strong will with heart of gold and a smile that radiated happiness, she touched everyone she met in her own special way and was the light of the room where ever she was.
She surrounded herself with animals both at work in her career as a Veterinarian Technician at Upstate Vet, Asheville as well as at home with her "smushy faces" and critters of the Rotten Ass Farm. Heather enjoyed her days in the sunshine and on the water whether at her favorite place, Lake Jocassee or surrounded by friends hanging at the pool.
The last 18 months of her life was a testament to how strong and independent she was as she battled colon cancer like a bad ass with a smile on her face. Her genuine personality and resilience should be an example to all.
A celebration will be held in her honor at a later date in warmer weather.
Memorials may be made to Boxer Butts & Other Mutts Inc.; 108 Schermerhorn Ln. Arden, NC 28704.
