Gloria Rogers Owenby, age 81, passed away on June 28, 2024. She was born in Asheville NC, the daughter of the late Jackson Bert Rogers and Norma Hunsucker. She married John W. Owenby, July 14, 1962. She is survived by husband, John Owenby; two daughters, Tonia Harris (David) and Melissa Patton (Kevin) and three grandchildren, Lena, Nora, and Jackson Patton; and sister Patricia Jones.
Gloria was an active member of the Campobello Ladies Auxiliary and served as the organization’s secretary for many years. After her career retirement as a secretary, she became an accomplished student artist. She rendered many paintings of landscapes around the upstate South Carolina area, painting mostly with oils on canvas. Many of her paintings will be on display during a memorial reception at the family residence on July 13, 2024. Friends, acquaintances, and neighbors are invited to the memorial reception drop-in to celebrate the life of Gloria at the family residence located at 275 Cantrell Street, Campobello, SC. Lunch refreshments will be served. The reception will be held from 11:00AM to 3:00PM on July 13. In lieu of flowers, small donations can be made to the Campobello Ladies Auxiliary, 11790 Highway 11, Campobello SC 29322 in her memory.
