Geraldine Lewis Fain passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Born in Campobello, SC and affectionately known as MeMe to her family and friends, she will be deeply missed.
Geraldine's love of her life was the late husband Edward Lee Fain. A devoted mother of three children, Robbie, Cheryl, and Charles. A grandmother to four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Geraldine loved God, her family, friends, and church. She loved working in her yard, which brought her much joy as well as all things outdoors. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling with family and friends alike.
In addition to being a homemaker, she was a wonderful seamstress, which she shared her talent with many family members and friends. MeMe was also very active in and served her dearly loved Holston Creek Baptist Church as a member of outreach and community service activities for over 60 years. They include Carpenter's for Christ, 13+ mission trips, mission friends leader, church hostess for 28 years, decorating committee, adult choir, and many other church service opportunities. She was also a member of the Eastern Star (Inman) and enjoyed her time and travel she shared with her fellow members.
Surviving family members include: Robbie Fain, Cheryl Gosnell (Reggie), Charles Fain (Christine); grandchildren, Caleb Fain (Jennifer), Travis Fain (Jessica), Lee Gosnell, and Gil Gosnell; great-grandchildren, Sarah Grace Fain, Mason Fain, Kylie Fain, and Addy Gosnell; a brother, Billy Lewis (JoAnn). Also surviving are special nephews, Gary Lewis (Lorie) , Steve Lewis (Penny) and all the other nieces and nephews.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Fain, her parents Charles and Ella Lewis, and four siblings, Jack Lewis, Mary Reid, Juanita McKaig, Buddy Lewis; a grandchild April Fain; a daughter in law, Pam Fain. She was also predeceased by a special nephew, Tim Lewis (Renee).
A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Holston Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Timothy McKnight officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. prior to the service.
