George Ramsey, 79, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2025. George was born in Polk County, NC on December 2, 1945 to the late Ona and Mary Ellen Pritchard Ramsey. George was a resident of Landrum his entire life. He loved this town and its people. He never missed an opportunity to tell his family and friends how much he loved them.
Left to cherish George’s memory are his children, Penny Zuniga (Modesto), Cindy Ramsey, Ricky Ramsey all of Landrum and Travis Ramsey (Travis Staggs) of Anderson, SC, the mother of his children, Barbara Ramsey who he loved dearly, his grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Fisher, Ethan (Lyndsey) Fisher, Tyler Ramsey, Tiffany Ramsey, Trent (Deanna) Ramsey, Alexis Ramsey (Dylan Bishop), Austin (Mariia) Rivero, and Raymond Frazier, great grand children, Lily and Lizzie Fisher, Paislee and Ellee Hyder, Ayden and Kilynn Bishop and William and Weston Fisher, his brother, Billy Ramsey (Kim) of Landrum and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was predeseased by sisters, Betty Jo Culbreth, Edna Butler, Sandra Allison and brothers, Doyle Ramsey, Bud Ramsey, June Ramsey, Jimmy Ramsey and Robert Ramsey.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 2:00pm, in the chapel of Petty Funeral Home conducted by Brannon Poore, Travis Bailey, Stacy Glover and Andy Wooten. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service.
The family will be at the home of Penny and Modesto Zuniga, 201 E. Blue Ridge St, Landrum.
