Geoffrey Craig Stephens, 61, of Sumter, SC entered his eternal rest on Saturday, November 5, 2023. He was born in Spartanburg, SC on June 3, 1962 to Rev. Paul Alvin Stephens and Rubye Caldwell Stephens.
He was raised under the sovereign grace ministry of his father and was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church. Like his brother David, he was a trained machinist and was employed by tool and die companies across the southern states from North Carolina to Texas. A proud father of his only child, he is survived by his son, William Hunter Stephens and Hunter’s mother, Margaret Stewart Stephens, both of Spartanburg, SC. He is also survived by his sister, Paula Stephens Powell (Rick) of Columbus, NC; one niece, Leigh Ann Daniel (Brian) of Cumming, GA; one nephew, Jason Paul Stephens (Jessica) of Waterloo, SC; two great-nephews, Luke Daniel and Oliver Stephens; and three great-nieces, Nadia Tate, Penelope Stephens, and Eloise Stephens.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Penny Lorraine Stephens, and both brothers, Samuel Paul Stephens and David Lawrence Stephens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm Monday, November 13, 2023 at Petty Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00pm conducted by Rev. Sean McKaig.
Family members will be at their respective homes.
