Gary Gene Tucker, 62, of Landrum, South Carolina, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 30, 2025.
Gary was a devoted husband to Marilyn Collins Tucker, a loving father to Nikki Ayers (Josh Ayers) and Danielle Tucker, and a proud grandfather to Tucker Ayers, Hootie Ayers, and Parker Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Patricia Tucker, and is survived by his brother, Les Tucker (Beth Tucker).
Gary lived a life grounded in faith, love, and loyalty. He had a deep love for God, his family, football, and the thrill of dirt track racing. He especially cherished time spent watching his grandsons play baseball and football, and found pure joy in spoiling his granddaughter Parker.
Known for his big presence, booming laugh, and kind heart, Gary had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. He was a selfless man who gave freely of his time and love, always putting others before himself.
He leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he loved most. Gary will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be announced by the family at a later date.
The family will be at Josh and Nikki Ayers' home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored to hear and read stories about Gary. Please send stories to Nikki Ayers, 305 Redland Road, Landrum SC 29356.
