Gary Dean Gilbert

Gary Dean Gilbert, 69, of Campobello, SC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February, 2, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Spartanburg, SC on Tuesday, December 4, 1951 to the late Walter Harvey Gilbert, Sr. and Ruth Ellen Shipman Gilbert.  He was raised in Inman, SC.  He was a truck driver by trade who loved driving and enjoyed various special stops for barbecue across the country.  He loved working on cars and working with wood projects.  He made what he needed to suit the way he wanted it to be.  He was a jack of all trades.  He treasured his family above all earthly possessions.  He was of the Baptist faith and attended Beulah Baptist Church in Tryon, NC.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Brenda Waddell Gilbert; two daughters: Rebecca Mistler (Keith) and Sabrina Kilpatrick (Vernon); two grandchildren: Caitlin Kilpatrick and Tristan Mistler.  Also, siblings: Ron Gilbert, Sr. (Carolyn), Donnie Gilbert, Gwen Ogburn, Ellen Guffey (Carroll), Alvin Gilbert (Glenda), Robert Gilbert (Kathy), Darryl Gilbert and Amy Gilbert.  And one living little cat, Sophie.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter Harvey Gilbert, Sr. and Ruth Ellen Shipman Gilbert; two brothers, Walter Harvey Gilbert, Jr. and Joseph Kyle Gilbert.

The family will be at their respective homes

Services will be private.  Pastor Todd Fletcher will officiate.
