Franklin Ruff

Franklin Donald Ruff, 83, of Greer, SC, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Upstate Community Hospice House, Landrum, SC. 

Born in Rushville, OH, he was the son of the late Eldon Thomas and Wilma Lorrine Glaze Ruff. Franklin enjoyed gardening, camping, being outdoors, and tending to his chickens. He was involved with the Boy Scouts for years being a scout master. Franklin was active in his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2nd ward, Greenville, SC. Over the years, he served as a counselor in Bishopric, Sunday School President, Ward Clerk, Stake Young Men Presidency, and High Priest Group Leader. 

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Patricia McCrone Ruff; three sons, Craig Matthew Ruff (Beth), Kevin Richard Ruff (Ashley), and Todd Andrew Ruff; six grandchildren, Brittany Briggs (Kyle), Elizabeth Danielle Flake (Josh); Jessica Kerr (Nik), Kelsey Barwick (Garrett), Kendall Holmes (Wesley), and Caroline Ruff; a sister, Sharon Kaye VanAtta. Also surviving are fourteen great-grandchildren. 

Franklin was predeceased by a son, Bryan Patrick Ruff, a brother, Robert Burrell Ruff, and a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Ruff. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, October 7, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2nd Ward, Greenville, SC with Bishop Patrick Soug officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00am - 11:00am prior to the service. 

Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Landrum, SC.
