Frances Joyce Gono Dickerson

On October 16, 2021, Frances Dickerson, 91, of Campobello, South Carolina, was surrounded by her loved ones as she peacefully went home to be with the Lord
.
Born on November 19, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas, she was the oldest of four children born to Tom and Delia Gono. On October 26, 1955, she married John Leonard Dickerson in San Diego, CA, where they lived briefly before moving to Florida where they raised their family.

Church and family were very important to Frances who loved the Lord and served in many areas. Frances grew up in the Salvation Army Church and served with them as a young adult until her marriage. Frances loved to sing, ranging from solos through mass choirs. Frances also played piano at home and during church services. Frances loved teaching young children as a pre-school teacher.

Family always came first. Frances gave selflessly of her time to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Affectionately known as G.G., she always had kind and loving words for any situation.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, John Leonard Dickerson, her son, John T. Dickerson, her parents, Tom and Delia Gono, her brother Tommy Gono and her sister, Dorothy Gono.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Wrains (John), Sandra Reckell (Dave) and Pamela Dickerson. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Gono McMahon (Sam), her grandchildren Christopher Wrains (Charon) and Ashley Rowe (Corey), and 6 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 10:00am Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Pastor Henry Johnson.
