Essie Mae Pace Gilbert

Essie Mae Pace Gilbert, 91, of Mill Spring, NC passed away on October 4, 2024.   She was the daughter of the late Garvin Lee and Lola Mae Gibbs Pace and wife of the late Rev. Leroy Gilbert. She attended Bible Baptist Church and worked for the Polk County School District. 
 

She is survived by a son Leroy Dean Gilbert; three daughters Rebecca Ann Stiles, Janet Lynn Pope and Jennifer Gail Price; a brother Richard Allen Pace; two sisters Patricia Rickman and Ailene Wilson; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 
 

She was predeceased by a son Robert Allen Gilbert; two brothers Garvin Lee “G.L.” Pace, Jr. and Forrest Lee “Bud” Pace.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm Wednesday October 9, 2024 at Cane Creek Baptist Church.      A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the church conducted by Pastor Tommy Turner.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
