Ellen Flynn

Ellen Hensley Flynn, 82, went home to be with the Lord on October 9, 2024.  She was the wife of Hugh Flynn and daughter of the late Charles and Winnie Connor Hensley.  She was predeceased by a brother Robert Hensley.

She is survived by her husband Hugh Flynn and several nieces and nephews.

She worked in the Personnel Department at Landrum Mills for 42 years.  She graduated from RS Central High School in Rutherfordton, NC.  She attended Appalachian State University and Cecil’s Business College.  She was a lady of great faith in God and enjoyed the ladies Bible study in her church.  She spent many hours studying God’s word.  She was a member of Pacolet Hills Baptist Church and served as church treasurer for 42 years plus many more positions.  She had a heavy heart for missions, Baptist children’s homes, and the Christmas shoe boxes.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Petty Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm.   A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Pacolet Hills Baptist Church conducted by Rev. John Roberts and Rev. Lewis Jackson.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
