Dorothy "Dottie" Lee (Dabbs) Crawford

Dorothy "Dottie" Lee Dabbs Crawford, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2023, with her family by her side.  She is the daughter of the late Jack Whitlock Dabbs and the late Tessie Lee Terrell Dabbs. 

Her family was her friends, and her friends were her family, there are others unnamed here who will miss her terribly.

Dottie was predeceased by her lifelong love and husband, Bill Crawford.  Having met Bill when she was six years old, they were together for 75 years, married for 60, until his death in late 2016.  

Dottie helped so very many people with a steadfast message of grace and kindness.  However, that gentle and lovely demeanor masked a woman of incredible strength.  She was an unwavering Christian in word and in deed.  Her faith and her profession as a registered nurse perhaps, contributing to the consistent and calm nature that graced our world for more than eight decades. 

She is survived by a son, Brad Crawford (Hannah) and a daughter, Vicki Lynn Crawford; granddaughters, Hattie Ruth and Roselee Crawford.

In addition to her husband Bill, she was predeceased by her brother, David Dabbs.
 
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 2:00PM at the First Baptist Church Landrum conducted by Rev. Mark Bishop, Rev. Steve Booth and Rev. Walter Jones.  A graveside service and burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Durham, NC on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 2:00PM.
