Obituary
Doris Greene Thompson, 66, of Rutherfordton passed away on March 20, 2022. She was born in Rutherfordton on January 1, 1956 and was raised by her father Robert Greene and her grandmother Della Elizabeth Johnson Greene. She had a special bond with her aunts Beatrice "Pete" Randolph, Inez Womack, Diane Greene, Vaughn Greene and Ruth Reid.
She was a member of Melvin Hill Church.
She is survived by her husband Doug Thompson; a son Casey Thompson and wife Mindy Hyder Thompson; two sisters Pam Navy and Betty Benkert; and two granddaughters Rylee and Mollie Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Melvin Hill Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm at the church conducted by Rev. Craig Scruggs and Brother Shane Jackson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
