Dewey Lee Fortenberry

Dewey Lee Fortenberry, 59, of Campobello, SC, passed away on March 13, 2026. He was the son of Leland Dewitt Fortenberry (Paula) and June Marcella Price Laughter (Dean) and husband of Marcie Davis Fortenberry.

Dewey was a loving husband, father, son, and Pop Pop. There were only a few things in his life that took up residence in his heart, those being his family and his dogs Zeus and Apollo. You could also catch him cooking, fishing, or rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, the Georgia Bulldogs, or the Boston Celtics.

No matter the time of day, if you asked for help on anything with a motor, he was right there offering a solution. Dewey was a man of few words, but the impact he had on so many lives was great.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his sons, Josh Fortenberry (Kayla) and Corey Fortenberry (Rebekah); his brothers, James Fortenberry and Michael Fortenberry (Jennifer), and grandsons, Will and Jackson Fortenberry.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from 1:00 - 3:00 PM with Personal Remarks at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Petty Funeral Home.
