David Clark Edwards moved on from this world. Born in Polk County, North Carolina on February 2, 1945 to Ruth Minnie Greene Edwards and Floyd Edwards; he was the middle of three children.
A man of many talents, David was a self-taught engineer who built a successful company, Automated Systems and Equipment, specializing in the design and production of custom production line equipment for many national food and pharmaceutical companies.
A man of wisdom and wisecracks, no slip of paper, envelope, or napkin was safe from his humorous drawings, comics and cartoons of friends and family members, often to the delight and occasionally the disdain of his subjects. David loved traveling with his wife Cathy, beating everyone at poker and Jeopardy, fishing, and spending time with his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Steve and Jimmy, and a daughter, Charlotte Edwards.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Cathy Salley Edwards, son John Edwards, daughter Jill Edwards Mueller (Rich), daughter Heather Edwards Ponce (Kim), and grandsons David Neil Edwards, Beck Edwards, and Kayden Hubert.
The family will receive friends at Petty Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 9:00-10:00AM. A graveside service will follow at 10:15AM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
